The spring flowers have come out to play, despite the crippling drought the Western Cape is currently faced with.

When is the West Coast flower season?
As with all things in nature, it’s difficult to predict exactly. But the flower season in the Cape region runs from the beginning of August to the end of September. The best time for seeing the flowers on the West Coast and the Tankwa Karoo national parks’ is the last two weeks of August until mid-September.
Are the West Coast flowers out every day?
Ah, we’re glad you asked. No. Of course not. You don’t just get a show from nature as you snap your fingers. The flowers only throw back their delicate heads on sunny days. Wait until the sun’s high in the sky (between 10:30 and 15:30 is best).
