Huawei bolstered its product line-up this month when the company showcased the Mate 40 series at its Leap Further Ahead event. The series is described as the “pinnacle of Huawei technology”.

Huawei Mate 40 series: What you need to know
The first Huawei Mate was released eight years ago. Since then, there have been ten “outstanding generations of Mate Series devices” and the new addition to the family is no different.
Huawei’s latest flagship smartphones are equipped with the best tech in the mobile industry and will soar to new heights. In addition, the Mate 40 Series has been “fine-tuned to provide the most exciting smartphone experience possible”.
Moreover, the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro Plus models incorporate “the world’s first 5 nanometer 5G SoC (System On a Chip), Ultra Vision Cine Camera system and the iconic Space Ring Design”.

What’s under the hood?
The Huawei Mate 40 series is equipped with the Kirin 9000 processor. In addition, the chip is capable of handling intensive computations and multi-tasking operations with ease.
The company announced that for the first time ever, “the flagship 5G SoC has more than 15.3 billion transistors”.This makes it one of the densest and full-featured 5G SoC currently on the market.
Additionally, the Mate 40’s powerful CPU features a three-level power efficiency architecture with cores running at clock frequencies of up to 3.13GHz, as well as an innovative NPU featuring two big cores and one tiny core.
This setup truly takes on-device artificial intelligence (AI) to a new level. The flagship device is also equipped with Huawei SuperCharge; meaning it is equipped to keep up with increasing demands of 5G.
