Would have won more leagues at Kaizer Chiefs – ex-Bafana coach
Former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund believes he could have won league titles at Kaizer Chiefs if he was given a chance.

Former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates coach Gordon Igesund is confident he could have won league titles with Kaizer Chiefs.
Having coached more than 10 times, the 68-year-old coach revealed that Amakhosi was a team that never came knocking. Igesund has won four league titles with four different teams and is highly regarded as one of the PSL’s best coaches ever.
Speaking on SoccerBeat, the former Bafana Bafana coach said he would have won more league titles with Kaizer Chiefs if he was offered the job.
“No, they never actually, I wish they had offered because they would have more titles, that’s a fact. I see they have so many coaches in the last years, I don’t know how many because I never counted. I don’t think the coach right now has really settled in. He looks like a good coach, he knows what he is doing, he is not a fool. I think there’s so many changes going on, he doesnt know which is his best team,” Igesund said.

“I would have loved to go there in those days when I was available and I could have done something with them. You know for whatever reason, I didn’t coach the top three in the league and won the league so I’m very confident I would have won the league with them,” Igesund said.
The 68-year-old is now running Hamiltons Football Academy in Cape Town, South Africa. He co-founded the academy in July 2018 with Ryn Russell. Having coached Bafana Bafana in 2012-2014, Igesund was overlooked for the Kaizer Chiefs job in 2015 when Stuart Baxter resigned.
Do you think Igesund would have been a success at Naturena?
