Fresh off their 3-1 Nedbank Cup win against Baroka, Orlando Pirates have more important action on the horizon. What’s next?

Mabasa slays Baroka

Golden Boot holder Tshegofatso Mabasa helped himself to a hat-trick as Pirates dispatched Baroka in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16. They sail through to the quarters and now attention turns back to their Betway Premiership campaign. They travel to Golden Arrows on Wednesday 19 February with kickoff at 19:30.

Mbokazi is primed for a big future

According to SoccerLaduma, 19-year-old central defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi is training with the senior side. The stylish left-footer has impressed Jose Riveiro and the technical team with his strong work ethic and cool, calm composure on the ball. It’s early days yet, but the club expects big things from the youngster whose crisp distribution over short and long distances is a valuable and rare asset from the left side of central defence. Also, they see him as a natural leader.

Jose Riveiro’s coy update on Saleng, Ndah

According to SNL24, Orlando Pirates trio Monnapule Saleng, Olisa Ndah and Goodman Mosele aren’t imminently returning to action for the Sea Robbers.

“I don’t speak about the health of my players, it’s something that belongs in a private space.

“The moment the club feels that it’s the right time to speak about which players are injured, how long it will take, and this process is not part of my job description.

“It’s not an ethical thing. I know it will be nice to know how close is Olisa (Ndah), (Goodman) Mosele, or what is happening with Saleng, but it’s not going to happen.” Riveiro said.
