What’s next for Steve Komphela? Will he return to Sundowns or sink with Swallows?

Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela could be on his way out of the club before the DStv Premiership resumes on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old coach left Mamelodi Sundowns end of last season to join the Dube Birds.
Komphela has not returned to training since December.

“I was not denied entry to the training venue because I didn’t even go there,” Komphela said on Radio 2000. “I’m still waiting for communication from the office because after the games were cancelled in December, we were told that training should not resume till further notice.
Steve Komphela set to leave Swallows
“The league resumes next week. Maybe there will be change, and sanity will prevail, and we find a way forward. But right now, I’m just sitting back and watching this movie unfold,” he said.

Swallows management suspended 22 players who went on strike over unpaid salaries. Komphela said he was unsure if he would return to the club next week when the PSL resumes
“I don’t want to talk about Swallows issues until we discuss them with the club. But I was called to Moroka Swallows to help. We were number four until we had these self-inflicted challenges. I don’t know what’s gonna happen next because a lot has happened now,” Komphela added.

“But the supporters are calling for me to come back. But when I go back, how do I enter that terrain because a lot has been dismantled? A lot of preparation seems to have been happening in my absence. How do I then take hold of the steering wheel of a car that I never built,” he said.
Komphela could return to Sundowns where he worked as a senior coach for three years alongside Rulani Mokoena and Manqoba Mngqithi.
