Kaizer Chiefs suffered a first half humiliation after two of their former players at SuperSport United haunted them.

Samir Nurkovic, who joined SuperSport United not so long ago, opened the scoring against his former employers in the third minute.

And as expected, Nurkovic did not celebrate the goal as a sign of respect for Chiefs who were the first to expose him to PSL football.

This was Nurkovic’s second league goal since joining the Tshwane outfit under the watchful eye of Gavin Hunt.

Amakhosi did rally to equalise through Glody Lilepo in the 30th minute in what was his third of the campaign for the club.

However, the home side found themselves on the backfoot again two minutes later, this time Christian Saile netted for SuperSport United.

Just like with Nurkovic, this was Saile’s second goal since joining Matsatsantsa on loan from Chiefs in January.

Kaizer Chiefs headed into this encounter sitting sixth on the log with 25 points from 17 league games played.

They could move up to fourth on the standings with a win over Gavin Hunt’s team on the night.

SuperSport United, on the other hand, could move a spot up from 12th to 11th if they claim maximum against Chiefs.

The Tshwane outfit has collected just 17 points from the 17 matches they have played which is unlike them.

At halftime, the scoreboard read Kaizer Chiefs 1-2 SuperSport United. The second half is underway.
