Rumours of TTM’s possible return to professional football surfaced on Friday, 13 August 2021, just a few months after selling their PSL status to Marumo Gallants.
And they went for Royal AM’s status because Shauwn Mkhize, popularly known as MaMkhize, is reported to be close to purchasing Bloemfontein Celtic in the PSL.

TTM confirmed the news of their return to football in a statement on Saturday morning.
“We are delighted to announce that Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila Football Club has, as of 13 August 202, acquired the status of Royal AM in the GladAfrica Championship,” reads the statement.

“Thus, Royal AM Football Club will change its name to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila Football Club and relocate to Thohoyandou Stadium,” added the statement.
TTM, under the leadership of Masala Mulaudzi, previously bought the status of Bidvest Wits, and barely six months into it, the Limpopo businessman sold the team to Dr Abram Sello as he couldn’t keep the club afloat financially.

Sello kept the name TTM as he couldn’t change it until the end of the 2020-21 PSL season before recently renaming it Marumo Gallants.
