‘Sundowns will end Nabi’s time at Kaizer Chiefs on 1 March’
‘The cooking will be over come the 1st of March,’ Sundowns legend Shakes Ngwenya expects his former team to beat Kaizer Chiefs.

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Manqoba “Shakes” Ngwenya says Nasreddine Nabi‘s tenure as Kaizer Chiefs coach will end next month.
The retired midfielder has predicted his former team to thrash Amakhosi when the two teams meet on 1 March. Chiefs and Sundowns met twice already this season with The Brazilians winning both matches.
Speaking on the SoccerBeat podcast, Shakes said Downs lacked motivation when playing smaller teams in the PSL. Having lost 1-0 to TS Galaxy last week, Sundowns bounced back midweek to win 3-1 against Marumo Galants.
Sundowns looking to add more misery to Kaizer Chiefs
The Brazilians play Chiefs next month but before that, they have another fixture with Galaxy. “Very little motivation needed there(against Chiefs), they will come motivated,” Ngwenya said.
“They need to motivate themselves in a game like that. It’s the games like Galaxy where they really need to motivate themselves and say ‘hey, we need to give the same amount of resistance you know that we’d give against Chiefs’. It remains to be seen how they will react as they lost against TS Galaxy(in the first round).
The former Sundowns star said Nabi will likely get sacked as Kaizer Chiefs should he lose his third match against Masandawana next weekend.
“The cooking will be over come the 1st of March. It will be the end of the cooking, pots will not be ready and the man is going. The message is clear from the Sundowns supporters, they want nothing more than to beat Kaizer Chiefs. There’s nothing that makes Sundowns supporters than to see Chiefs losing to them,” he said.
Former Orlando Pirates and Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus also expected a tough day in the office for Kaizer Chiefs
It’s going to be a challenging couple of weeks for Nabi. Going into the Sundowns game, it’s going to be challenging because last night(Tuesday night), he had a big loss against not such a strong SuperSport United. They were outplayed and outsmarted by SuperSport.
“Coming up against Sundowns, it will be very interesting to see whether it will be his last game or not is for us to wait and see,” Erasmus added.
Kaizer Chiefs will face Sundowns at the Loftus Versfeld next weekend.
