Sundowns’ senior player applauds new coach Cardoso
Mamelodi Sundowns’ new head coach Miguel Cardoso has to have a good relationship with his senior players.
Mamelodi Sundowns’ Mothobi Mvala has learned a few things about his new coach Miguel Cardoso.
MOTHOBI MVALA ON MIGUEL CARDOSO AT SUNDOWNS
According to Mvala, Cardoso has been characterised by his high-energy which has transferred onto his Sundowns players.
“The coach came with a lot of energy and that is rubbing off on the players. He is a winner, you know Sundowns always want to win everything,” Mvala said via Sowetan. “We’ve quality players in the team that adjust quickly to the philosophy of the coach and what he wants. That’s what helps the team win and get results. We just need to keep on moving, we know that there is still room for improvement.
“The coach is working hard at training and the guys are doing a debrief after every game to rectify some of the mistakes or things that we could have done better in the game. I think we are heading in the right direction,” Sundowns’ senior star concluded.
HUGO BROOS COMMENTS ON JAYDEN ADAMS TO MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
A section of Mamelodi Sundowns supporters will have strong opinions on Hugo Broos’ comments here.
As reported last week, Kabo Yellow won the race to sign the 23-year-old midfielder from Stellenbosch FC. Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana coach Broos has some questions. “I have to think about how I’m going to say this because it’s dangerous,” the Belgian said, as per iDiski Times.
“But I understand that Sundowns want the best players and I also understand that they buy them because they have money. They have plenty of money, but at the end what are you going to do with all those players?
“I see Adams now, okay, we will see. In Stellenbosch, he played every game, and I know Sundowns are playing many games, the Champions League and Nedbank and the league competition. And you need more than 20 players but if I’m right they have 38 players or something…
“I’m not criticising Sundowns, I’m just looking in a realistic way, what are they going to do with all those players? And they are internationals, it’s not like the one with for example [Tashreeq] Matthews, he doesn’t play every game but he’s not with the national team.
“But at Sundowns there are national team players who don’t play and for me it’s a little bit not a happy feeling because you have to at a certain moment replace the player because they are not playing, not because they are not good enough.
“Okay, that’s the policy of Sundowns, it’s not up to me to criticise that I have to respect that but sometimes it’s not easy,” concluded Broos.
