Magesi FC have reportedly begun the search for one of their players who they last saw in the previous year.

The Limpopo outfit had a successful 2024 which saw Magesi gain promotion and win the Carling Knockout Cup

Magesi loaned Mokhele from Sekhukhune United

To set them off at the start of the season, one of the players they signed was Moloisane Mokhele. The winger joined the club on loan from fellow Limpopo side Sekhukhune United. So far this season he has played seven times without contributing a goal or assist to the cause. But what he has contributed to is the frustration and concern at Magesi according to the latest developments.

According to Soccer-Laduma, Mokhele has not returned to training at Magesi this year. This despite his loan deal still being active from Sekhukhune. It is only set to expire at the end of the season.

Player gone AWOL

“The Siya crew has learnt that one of the club’s new signings for this season Maloisane Mokhele has had a letter sent from the club in the hope that it will reach to him notifying him of allegedly being absent from work without leave. According to club insiders, the 28-year-old winger who is on loan from Sekhukhune United has allegedly failed to report for duty since the first week of the new year and his actions have angered the management who had hoped for the team to focus on the fight against relegation.” Wrote the publication.

The Magesi source then confirmed the details of their search for Mokhele

“Maloisane Mokhele has gone AWOL. The club has been trying to make contact with him, but he has been unreachable. As a result, there is a risk of him not getting paid by the club for this month. That’s the step that the club is considering taking” said the official to the same publication.

Agent intervention

Mokhele’s agent also weighed in on the situation of the player going missing from Magesi…

“I was contacted by the ( Magesi team) manager to inform me about what you are enquiring about (Mokhele being missing). As we speak, I am on my way to Polokwane to get to the bottom of this matter. I am busy working on it and I am hoping that everything will be sorted as soon as possible,” said Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi.

What do you think the course of action should be for a player who goes missing without reason? Should Magesi punish Mokhele? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
