Becker had been occupying the position of PSL prosecutor for years, and his resignation would come as a major shock.
And that’s because the PSL itself had not announced his departure from office even after five days of learning of his resignation.

“I resigned with effect [on] 30 November 2021,” Becker told iDiski Times.
Becker’s announcement of his resignation comes at a time when the PSL is under heavy criticism for not saying a word on the ongoing Kaizer Chiefs vs Cape Town City saga.

Amakhosi were unable to host Cape Town City on Saturday, 4 December because 31 of their employees tested positive for Covid-19.
Chiefs could be hauled before the PSL DC even though they wrote to the league requesting for their game to be postponed.
