Orlando Pirates: Two big stars to miss MTN8 final?

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has given a concerning report on Monnapule Saleng and Olisa Ndah ahead of the weekend’s MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC.

ORLANDO PIRATES STAR TO MISS MTN8 FINAL?

As witnessed last weekend, both Saleng and Ndah missed the Betway Premiership 1-0 win over Richards Bay. Speaking to the media after the game, Riveiro said the two players suffered injuries against Polokwane City and are at risk of missing the action in the MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday at 18:00.

“If you remember our last game against Polokwane City, both Olisa and Saleng were subbed because of two different injuries,” said Riveiro via FARPost.

“That’s the reason they’re not here is because they couldn’t make it. They were not available for selection.

“And actually it’s not 100% sure that they are going to be there in the final as well. So, we’re not saving anybody because like I said before we’re taking every game like a final.

“We are giving the same respect to Richards Bay as the respect we are going to give Stellenbosch in the final.

“And that’s the way we want to do the things. So, there’s nothing like saving players, no not at all,” the Orlando Pirates coach concluded.

PASEKA MAKO RETURNS FOR ORLANDO PIRATES

It’s been a long while. The Sea Robbers have announced the return of Paseko Mako.

As confirmed by the Sea Robbers, the 30-year-old Mako has come out of the dark shadows of a knee ligament injury since October 2023.

“I’m so excited to be back on the field. The journey wasn’t easy but I’m eager to rejoin the team and contribute to the team’s success,” said Mako, as quoted by FARPost.

“It’s time to push myself; I’m ready to give my all again. Thanks to everyone who encouraged and supported me during my recovery,” the Orlando Pirates left-back concluded.
