Orlando Pirates have hinted at their readiness to let the absent Monnapule Saleng leave.

For reasons unknown, the former Free State Stars player hasn’t played since subbing on in the 76th minute against Richards Bay on November 5; Saleng’s two-month hiatus has been put down to ‘personal reasons’, but plenty believe this isn’t the case.

“Saleng has also been accused of being a divisive figure with his punctuality in the weeks leading up to his return to the (Pirates) XI when they faced Al Ahly,” a source confirmed.

“However, he has since returned to the stands and separate sources have stated that should clubs be interested, his price tag would be in excess of R15 million.”

The fact that Orlando Pirates have placed a price tag on Saleng suggests the Soweto side are open to selling before the summer window concludes in ten day’s time.

Club legend asks for Saleng’s return

“I think the team misses him. After what has been happening, he needs to come around,” say’s former Orlando Pirates winger Lebohang Mokoena.

“He’s a Pirates soldier, come help the team,” he added.

“The team really needs him, he just needs to sort out his issues with the club. The Buccanneers are hoping he get’s back in time. It’s a marathon, it’s just the beginning of the league, we’re not even halfway, still many games to go.

“Whereever you are my boy Saleng, please let’s sort it out, be level-headed, refocus, humble yourself, be disciplined, do what you have to do. It’s your job at the end of the day. That’s the space you’re going to be able to clear your head, showcase your talent and we all know you’re a talented player, the Buccaneers need you.”
