Bafana Bafana calls are not for everyone, especially if you’re 19 years old. Orlando PiratesRelebohile Mofokeng has reacted to the dream come true.

ORLANDO PIRATES STAR RELEBOHILE MOFOKENG ON HIS BAFNAA BAFANA CALL UP

It was only his second season as a professional, his five goals and six assists in 38 games for Orlando Pirates Mofokeng has earned him a Bafana call. Not impressive goal numbers? Well, the magic with Mofokeng is his ability to beat defenders and create opportunities.

“Obviously, we will meet the best players in the world. So just have to take advice from the senior players and hear what they say,” said Mofokeng via FARPost ahead of Bafana Bafana’s camp this week.

“Then I will see what happens when I get there. I just have to do my job and take it from there. We just need to win, and then the rest will come.

The Orlando Pirates attacker also revealed how he has improved his game.

“My marking has improved because that was the only thing I lacked in my game,” Mofokeng explained.

‘Even the coach used to tell me that he was not playing me last season because I was not marking. I always wanted the ball on my feet.

“But now I can make runs and also go back and mark. So he talks to me and advises me on where to improve so that I can be a better player. We finished in second spot. We won the Nedbank Cup and the Top eight, so it’s the best feeling. I am also happy about our performance as a team,” the Orlando Pirates attacker added.

OVERSEAS INTEREST

According to recent reports, Mofokeng is linked a move to the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers (England), Glasgow Rangers (Scotland), RB Salzburg (Austria) and Al Ahly (Egypt).

“If clubs show interest, they will talk to the Chairman; as for myself, I know nothing about it. I just play football at Pirates, and I don’t know anything else,” Mofokeng concluded.

HUGO BROOS SHARES CAUTION

Meanwhile, Bafana caoch Broos is not keen to see Mofokeng leave. The outspoken Belgian coach previously warned that former Mamelodi Sundowns star Cassius Mailula about prematurely moving to FC Toronto in Canada. The Limpopo-born star has since spent most of his time in the Major League Soccer sitting in the stands.

“No! That’s what I said also with [Cassius] Mailula. This is not the right moment to go overseas,” Broos said after his was asked if Mofokeng is ready to leave Orlando Pirates, as per iDiskiTimes.

“He played what? 18 games, he doesn’t have international experience nothing. What I said about Mailula I repeat it now to Mofokeng stay at Pirates.

“Play another season here in South Africa with the Champions League maybe hopefully and then he will be a better player. You see what happened with Mailula. He went to Toronto and there were two former Italian internationals, what are you going to do with a little guy from South Africa there?

“He didn’t play many games he is on the bench. What does he learn there? I hope the agent of Mofokeng is more clever than the one of Mailula and he decides what is important for the player not important for him.

“Let’s see what happens and I hope that he stays at [Orlando] Pirates, that he plays another season,” Broos concluded.
