Orlando Pirates are closely monitoring one of the Betway Premiership’s surprise top performers this season.
Orlando Pirates have reportedly turned their attention to a Sekhukhune United rising star.
The Buccaneers have long been linked with a move for Stellenbosch’s Fawaaz Basadien.
However, as a back-up alternative, Jose Riveiro is keen on signing 21-year-old Vuyo Letlapa.
Letlapa has been highly impressive for Sekhukhune, making 10 appearances so far in his debut season. He also has two assists to show for himself.

According to local publication Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates are closely monitoring left-back Vuyo Letlapa.
In the event of failing to sign Basadien, Jose Riveiro’s side are expected to make a move for the rising star.
Fellow rivals Mamelodi Sundowns are also monitoring the talented full-back.
In other related news, Orlando Pirates and Chippa United look set to conclude yet another transfer deal.
According to the latest reports, Buccaneers rising star Sonwabo Khumalo is closing in on a loan move to The Chilli Boys.
Khumalo has been featuring for club’s feeder team Pele Pele FC after graduating from the Orlando Pirates academy.
According to reports, the towering midfielder has already landed in Gqeberha ahead of a six-month loan deal.
40th Orlando Pirates to Chippa United deal looming
Over the past decade, no less than 39 players have secured either loan or permanent moves from Orlando Pirates to Chippa United.
And now, that number looks set to hit 40 with Sonwabo Khumalo next in line!
“This publication has established that Khumalo is on the verge of joining the Chilli Boys on a six-month loan from Orlando Pirates,” an IDiski Times report read.
“He has already arrived in Gqeberha where he started training with the Chippa this morning and joins an exciting young squad that consists of Azola Matrose, Aphelele Teto, and Giovanni Philander.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng is also reportedly attracting serious interest from Spanish giants Barcelona FC!
