Orlando Pirates at risk of losing FOUR big names! – Full list
Orlando Pirates could soon part ways with four of their stars. Here’s the latest on the evolving story.

Orlando Pirates season has been a paradox.
On the one hand, they’re proving themselves as South Africa’s best chance of stripping Sundowns’ supremacy, winning the MTN8 Cup, qualifying for the Champions League quarter-finals, and sitting just three points behind the Brazilians.
However, behind the scenes, they are trying to keep the ship afloat with several stars nearing exits, namely Monnapule Saleng, who has sparked off-field drama, Patrick Maswanganyi, Relehobile Mofokeng and Karim Kimvuidi.
It’s hard to imagine a club doing so well and struggling to keep hold of its top players, but that seems to be the case in Soweto.
Why do they want out?
Salang’s two-month absence has been blamed on ‘personal issues,’ but individuals close to the club believe his attitude is the main cause.
“Saleng has also been accused of being a divisive figure with his punctuality in the weeks leading up to his return to the (Pirates) XI when they faced Al Ahly,
“However, he has since returned to the stands and separate sources have stated that should clubs be interested, his price tag would be in excess of R15 million.”
Regarding Maswanganyi, the reigning PSL Player of the Year has been fixated on a return to Europe, and his former club, UD Oliveirense, could facilitate the deal.
Orlando Pirates have placed an R40 million price tag on the 26-year-old, suggesting that, however reluctant they may be to sell, they’re open to offers.
Rising star Mofokeng is another talent reportedly on the cusp of leaving. According to Moroccan media, Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad Athletic are in ‘advanced talks’ with the Sharpeville native.
Then we have 22-year-old Karim Kimvuidi, who has struggled for playing time as Jose Riveiro continues to select Kabelo Dlamini and Thalente Mbatha over the promising youngster, who has only featured once in their last seven games.
Kimvuidi is eager to get more minutes under the belt – Orlando Pirates are exploring loan deals.
