Orlando Pirates have joined the race for Sekhukhune United left-back Vuyo Letlapa.

It has been an impactful debut season for the 21-year-old, assisting twice in ten games to help steer Babina Noko to fourth in the Betway Premiership.

According to reports, Mamelodi Sundowns and the Buccaneers are both monitoring the promising youngster as a replacement for Maroons defender Fawaaz Basadien, who appears likely to stay at Stellenbosch FC.

“You know he is still young and has a great future ahead of him as long as he can just remain grounded as he is now,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“That’s why it’s believed that apparently they are look at him as a replacement option for Fawaaz [Basadien] if they can’t get him. Yes he may have not have the experience right now but that comes with playing regularly at a top level and that’s what these clubs are looking at.”

One in , one out?

Orlando Pirates phenom Relehobile Mofokeng has many eye’s watching him from overseas with several clubs looking to sign the 20-year-old.

“Wydad Athletic are in advanced negotiations with South African club Orlando Pirates over the potential signing of 20-year-old striker Relebohile Mofokeng according to Moroccan media,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“According to Moroccan publication Lesiteinfo Wydad have made a tempting financial offer to Pirates for the young forward, with the South African club reportedly leaning towards accepting the bid,

“Mofokeng, who is considered one of South Africa’s brightest rising stars, is said to be open to the prospect of working under his compatriot, Rulani Mokwena, at Wydad. However, while the offer from Wydad is enticing, a move at this stage seems unlikely.”

Should Orlando Pirates forget Basadien?
