Orlando Pirates are already planning for the next season, with both incomings and outgoings in focus.

Pirates made a number of signings during the off-season, as well as the January transfer window.

They signed  Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy, Siphelo Baloni from All Stars FC and Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants. They were joined by Karim Kimvuidi, Lesedi Kapinga and Patrick Maswanganyi. Then in January, Pirates added the duo of Thabiso Lebitso and Thalenthe Mbatha. In January, stalwart Thembinkosi Lorch and Bienvenu Eva Nga both left the club for Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United respectfully.

Those players are expected to be followed out of the exit door by a few more, in the coming window. The likes of Zakhele Lepasa, Souaibou Marou, Sandile Mthethwa, among those touted for an exit. Another name that could enter that list soon is goalkeeper Richard Ofori. The Ghanaian international has been at least third choice for the past two seasons at Pirates.

Another player who was even expected to leave on loan at the start of this season is Thabiso Sesane. Last season, the centre back had a successful loan in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with All Stars. It was always known, however, that it would be tough for him to break into the Pirates team upon return. But in a surprising turn of events, he was retained by the club.

Sesane to stay at Pirates?

According to Soccer-Laduma Pirates could look to keep Sesane again next season!

“For him (Sesane), there has never been any doubt about his quality. He is a player that the club (Pirates) rates highly and expecting a lot from, having come through their development. It’s just that he hasn’t been getting regular game time, and the club has always been willing to assist youngsters in his situation by sending them on loan. He’s done very well in the games he has played so far,” said a source to the same publication.

Did well against AmaZulu

With Pirates facing a defensive crisis, Sesane played in the 4-2 Nedbank Cup quarterfinal win against AmaZulu
