An unnamed source revealed that Mbatha has committed himself to a five-year deal with Bucs.
Mbatha, 32, lost his place in the Usuthu starting line-up following the arrival of Veli Mothwa from Chippa United at the start of 2021.
However, the source claims the burly goalkeeper isn’t worried about his lack of game time under Benni McCarthy as he’s already secured a move away from the club.

“You’d expect him to be sad that he’s not making the team, but he is actually quite cool,” said the source.
“He is happy for Veli and supports him. He knows his time at the club is over now and is looking to challenge himself at another club,” added he source.
Mbatha’s contract with AmaZulu is coming to an end on 30 June 2021, and it would not be surprising if he were to move at the end of the current season.

He has been with the Durban-based outfit for four seasons now having arrived at the club in 2017.
Mbatha has featured in 73 competitive matches for AmaZulu, conceding 86 goals and keeping 24 clean sheets.
Pirates, on the other hand, are believed to be in the process of revamping their goalkeeping department with Siyabonga Mpontshane reportedly set to be released at the end of the current campaign.
