Orlando Pirates’ FIVE priority transfer targets revealed?
An exciting list of rumoured targets.

After a quiet January, Orlando Pirates are hedging their bets on the winter window for big reinforcements.
Orlando Pirates’ five rumoured transfer targets
Sinoxolo Kwayiba: Goal-scoring midfielder
According to SoccerLaduma, Orlando Pirates have made Sinoxolo Kwayiba their priority transfer target in June. The 25-year-old Chippa man was recently capped by Bafana. He’s got an eye for goal, already scoring six times in the league this term. Interest in Kwayiba follows from the club getting cold feet on signing Siphelele Luthuli, who trained with the Buccaneers after leaving Chippa.
Jaedin Rhodes: Wide player/number 10
According to Soccer Laduma, Pirates want to sign Cape Town City’s exciting winger/playmaker Jaedin Rhodes. The 21-year-old has already featured in 19 games across all competitions this campaign and caught the eye with his flamboyance, flair and creative skills. Rhodes has 75 City appearances under his belt with eight goals and four assists. In 2023-2024, he appeared 29 times in the league, scoring six times. The Cape Town City youth product can operate on either flank and in the number 10 role or ‘the hole’ behind the central striker. He’s certainly a name to watch out for in the 2024-2025 season and beyond.
Oswin Appollis: Wide player, can play off both flanks
Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates have been persistently linked with the exciting 23-year-old Bafana and Polokwane man. He’ll be pricey though.
Muzomuhle Khanyi: In-form striker
25-year-old Muzomuhle Khanyi has been causing a stir in the NFD, scoring goals for fun. He recently bagged a treble to further enhance his reputation as one of the best potential bargain deals available on the market. Although Pirates are stocked in this portion of the pitch with the prolific Tshegofatso Mabasa and relentless running power of Evidence Makgopa, there’s no such thing as too many good strikers.
Thabang Matuludi: Right-back
According to Soccer-Laduma, Thabang Matuludi almost joined Pirates in January before an injury meant the deal was dead in the water.
Priority areas
It’s clear from this list of targets that Orlando Pirates are prioritizing more creativity and goal threat from the middle of the park and out wide. There’s also a need for reinforcements at right-back and another different type of option to challenge Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa up top.

Would any of these players be good additions?
