Orlando Pirates: EIGHT exits confirmed! – Full List

Orlando Pirates are cleaning out with a mass exodus of players confirmed and more changes expected amongst the coaching staff and squad.

Orlando Pirates have officially said goodbye to EIGHT men seven players and one coach no longer at Mayfair.

Orlando Pirates have confirmed SEVEN player exits.

Meanwhile, Jose Riveiro and Bucs management are in the market for a new assistant coach after releasing Sergio Almenara. Therefore, a total of EIGHT departures have been confirmed by Pirates so far.

FULL LIST OF PIRATES PLAYER EXITS

  • Souaibou Marou
  • Fortune Makaringe
  • Kermit Erasmus
  • Richard Ofori
  • Siyabonga Mpontshane
  • Thabang Monare
  • Vincent Pule

Marou was the first confirmed player departure at Pirates. Thereafter, Makaringe followed him out the door.

Moreover, the Bucs announced the departure of four more players as they bid farewell to Erasmus, Ofori, Mpontshane, and Monare.

“Orlando Pirates can confirm that Richard Ofori, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Thabang Monare and Kermit Erasmus will be leaving us when their respective contracts come to an end on June 30,” the statement read on Pirates official website.

Meanwhile, Pule is the most recent Bucs star released. Interestingly, he is one of the most valuable players to be released in the PSL. So, Pule’s market evaluation states that he is worth roughly R10 million, according to Transfermarkt.

COACHING CHANGES CONTINUE

Pirates have released one coach and signed another. As mentioned, Almenara is the only coach to depart.

Meanwhile, Devon O’Brien has joined up with the Soweto Giants.

“So success brings interest in players and staff. I mean, you’ve probably read recently our video analyst Devon O’Brien has joined Orlando Pirates,” Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker confirmed on iDiskiTimes.

However, another big change is imminent. Namely, a new assistant coach will join the Bucs. Pirates have hinted at signing a European coach. Meanwhile, Benni McCarthy and Pitso Mosimane are both without clubs.
