New coach, captain! How Kaizer Chiefs might line up this season
Kaizer Chiefs have already made five signings ahead of the new season but how will they line up against Marumo Gallants?
Kaizer Chiefs are expected to field a different team when they play their first match of the season against Marumo Gallants next month.
Amakhosi have signed five players already for the new 2024/25 Betway Premiership. Last season, the Glamour Boys finished 10th in the league, their worst showing since the Premier Soccer League(PSL) inception.
Under the new coach Nasreddine Nabi, Kaizer Chiefs have restructured their technical team and are looking to rebuild this season. So far, the club has brought in Fiarce Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, Bongani Sam, Gaston Sirino and Inacio Miguel.
Here is how Amakhosi are likely to lineup this season:
Goalkeepers
With Brandon Petersen injured, Ntwari is expected to take the gloves over Bruce Bvuma.
Defenders
Kaizer Chiefs are more likely to play Reeve Frosler over Dillan Solomons at right-back. New signing Inacio Miguel will start in the heart of defence together with Given Msimango. With Amakhosi still looking for a left-back, Nabi might look to go to Sam in that position.

Midfielders
Yusuf Maart’s partnership with Edson Castillo has not worked and perhaps young Samkelo Zwane might be preferred. Mduduzi Chabalala might also start against Gallants with Gaston Sirino and Christian Saile on the wings.
Forward
Nabi appears to be a big fan of Ranga Chivaviro. The Kaizer Chiefs striker scored four goals during pre-season and might bring that form into the new season. He might play alongside Ashley Du Preez if Chiefs decide to play a 3-5-2 system.
With Miguel in the team, it remains to be seen who will take the armband at Kaizer Chiefs this season. In the last 12 months, Maart, Msimango, Itumeleng Khune and Keagan Dolly shared the armband.
Which positions do Chiefs still need to fill?
