Kaizer Chiefs have already added a wealth of experience to their side and are reportedly not done.

Chiefs came into this January transfer window period knowing that they had to use it to their best ability.

So far, they have done just that, after announcing three players with quality and experience on Monday. Chiefs confirmed the signings of forwards Glody Lilepo, Tashreeq Morris and Thabo Cele with one or two expected on deadline day. These signings come on the back of an over reliance on younger players by coach Nasreddine Nabi since his arrival.

Chiefs looking to add even more senior players

The likes of Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba, Mfundo Vilakazi and Samkelo Zwane playing important games. A 4-0 thrashing by rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup, highlighted the gulf in quality between national team players and ‘kids’.

Speaking after that game Nabi lamented that Chiefs need more senior players and leaders to help the kids.

Former Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi lauded the efforts of the Chiefs youngsters. But he also concurred that they cannot be expected to do it alone. The club has since seen that with its current signings. There is also talk that they’re trying to bring in Thembinkosi Lorch from the Pretoria side. That is expected to be a deadline day transfer situation to watch.

Now that might not be the only transfer Chiefs are looking to clinch on the day. According to African football journalist Eric Ndagijimana Nabi has asked the club to sign Mohamed ‘Tshabalala’ Husseini. The Simba SC and Tanzania national team captain is also a long-term target of the club!

“BREAKING

Kaizer Chiefs  Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi has ASKED club  for Simba SC  Captain, Mohamed Husseini. Kaizer Chiefs started profiling him weeks ago. Nabi WANTED him in THIS window; NOT easy deal.” Ndagijimana posted on his official X account.

‘Tshabalala’ Husseini the next target?

Chiefs fans, would you like to strengthen your left-back position with the attacking Husseini? A man nicknamed ‘Tshabalala’ after Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi legend Siphiwe Tshabalala due to attacking playing style. Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
