Miguel will be sent off in the Soweto Derby – Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star
Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye says Inacio Miguel will cost his side in the Soweto Derby this weekend.
Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye believes Miguel Inacio will cost Amakhosi on Saturday against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby.
The 29-year-old defender has already received five yellow cards this season, which led to him missing several matches for his team. He is available for the derby this weekend and is expected to slot in defence alongside Rushwin Dortley.
Khanye feels Pirates’ attack will be too strong for Kaizer Chiefs in the derby.
“The thing about Pirates is that they are strong in attack, and I don’t think Chiefs will be able to deal with the threat they possess,” he told Soccer Laduma.
“There has been inconsistency in terms of how Chiefs have been lining up especially at the back and that can cost them against Pirates.
“Sometimes (Njabulo) Blom is playing on the right and the other times it is (Reeve) Frosler there. I think (Bradley) Cross hasn’t been as solid on the left and there have been a lot of schoolboy mistakes in the defence overall.
Khanye says Kaizer Chiefs defender will make mistakes in the derby
“(Inacio) Miguel has been making some unnecessary mistakes and I think he is going to get a red card in this game.
“I’ve got nothing against the guy but what I have noticed about how he plays is that he tends to get too emotional, and with this going to be his first Soweto derby, he will be very lucky not to get a red card because Pirates are going to put pressure on him,” Khanye added.
Kaizer Chiefs lost 3-2 to Orlando Pirates in the last derby and will be out for revenge. The two teams meet for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon.
