Magesi FC assistant coach Papi Zothwane has reportedly left the club just three weeks after Clinton Larsen’s departure.

Zothwane stepped in as interim coach when Larsen left in December but with the understanding that Owen da Gama would take over.

And indeed Da Gama assumed the role of head coach at Magesi FC, retaining the entire technical team, including Zothwane.

However, latest developments as per UnplayableZA, suggest that Zothwane is longer at Magesi FC.

Zothwane was an assistant to Larsen when they masterminded Magesi FC’s first major piece of silverware in the form of Carling Knockout Cup in 2024.

The publication reports that Zothwane is heading to fellow PSL strugglers Richards Bay FC in the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Nonetheless, at this stage, it is unclear which position the former Bafana Bafana midfielder will occupy within the club.

Richards Bay FC are still on the lookout for a head coach since the sacking of Brandon Truter earlier this season.

In the interim, Ronnie Gabriel has been leading the technical team at Richards Bay FC.

Gabriel has been with the Natal Rich Boyz for almost four years now, having joined them as an assistant coach in August 2021.
