Orlando Pirates have more tinkering to do when they travel to SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.

Predicted Orlando Pirates XI vs SuperSport

Chaine; Ndlozi, Xoki, Mbokazi, Hotto; Mbatha, Makhaula, Nkota, Dlamini, Mofokeng; Mabasa.

22-year-old Siyabonga Ndlozi should continue at right-back with several options in that position still out injured. Nkosinathi Sibisi, the match-winner against Chippa, is suspended so Tapelo Xoki should come into the defence alongside impressive youngster Mbekezeli Mbokazi who claimed a clean sheet on full debut. Kabelo Dlamini should continue in the number 10 position in the absence of injured star Patrick Maswanganyi. Regular goalkeeper Sipho Chaine will also return after serving a suspension against the Chilli Boys.

Mbokazi deserves another chance in the Orlando Pirates first XI

Big things are expected from 19-year-old central defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi. The stylish left-footer has impressed Jose Riveiro and the technical team with his strong work ethic, cool, calm composure on the ball and crisp distribution over short and long distances. Also, they see him as a natural leader and a potential long-term partner for Thabiso Sesane in the heart of defence. His unique combination of rare traits and skills make him a prospect we’ll be watching closely. Mbokazi started for Pirates as they claimed a 1-0 win at Chippa on Wednesday. A clean sheet for the youngster is an ideal start and his emergence comes at an opportune time with Sesane out for the season with a serious injury.
