‘Khosi will rise to the occasion’ – Kaizer Chiefs defender ahead of Sundowns match
Kaizer Chiefs have allowed 11 goals in the last three matches against Mamelodi Sundowns but can they avoid another heavy score defeat?

Kaizer Chiefs defender Rushwin Dortley is confident that his team can beat Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
The 23-year-old joined Amakhosi this season from Cape Town Spurs and has been one of the best players this season for the club. Speaking ahead of the Downs match, Dortley said Chiefs needed to show that they were a big club.
Kaizer Chiefs looking to end losing streak against Sundowns
“This is a big game. They [Sundowns] have already beaten us twice [2-1 and 4-0 both at home in the league and the Carling Knockout quarter-final in September and November], so we need to show that Kaizer Chiefs are also a big club and we can rise to the occasion on big stages. We also want to lift the spirits of our fans,” he said, as quoted by Sowetan.
Kaizer Chiefs have already lost twice to Sundowns this season but Dortley is confident that this time around, things will be different. Despite forming a strong centre-back pairing with Migeul Inacio, Amakhosi have conceded over 20 goals in the league this season.
“We kept a few clean sheets [against Stellenbosch and Chippa United] before losing 4-1 to SuperSport United, so as a defensive unit, we want to return to keeping clean sheets. To us as defenders and goalkeepers, keeping a clean sheet is like scoring a goal, so it’s important to defend hard,” Dortley added.
Kaizer Chiefs travel to the Locus Moripe Stadium knowing a win against Sundowns could transform their season. Currently Amakhosi sit eight in the Betway Premiership with 25 points from 18 matches.
Can Chiefs cause an upset or will the Brazilians prove too strong?
