Arthur Zwane admitted not so long ago that Chiefs wanted to bring in more players during the January transfer window but they failed to because those they had earmarked were still contracted.
What is clear, at this stage, is that Chiefs are only competing to win the Nedbank Cup because the league title is beyond their reach.

TWO HIGH-PROFILE STARS KAIZER CHIEFS CAN SIGN FOR FREE IN JULY
ANDILE JALI – MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
In what would be a shock deal, Chiefs have an outside chance of signing Andile Jali whose contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expires in June.
Jali and Sundowns are currently locked in negotiations, but to date, the two parties still cannot seem to agree on anything, and thus, leaving the door open for midfielder’s exit.
And Chiefs could be tempted to sign Jali from Sundowns just like they did with Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat in recent years.

MDUDUZI MDANTSANE – CAPE TOWN CITY
It is now common knowledge that Chiefs came very close to signing Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City during the January transfer window as reported by The South African website.
Chiefs eventually opted out of the proposed deal perhaps because they knew they could get the left-footed midfielder for free in July.
