Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Three PSL Wingers

Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs should have a dominant transfer window in January. Failure could allow Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates to fly further away.

January 2025 might very well be Kaizer Chiefs’ most pivotal transfer window in the club’s history. Why? Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are stronger than ever, while Amakhosi have a top-class technical team but not the players.

NASREDDINE NABI SCANNING THE MARKET

The club’s new coach, Nasreddine Nabi, confirmed to the media that his squad needs continued improvement.

“I think we haven’t finished changing the squad,” Nabi said after Kaizer Chiefs signed Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortely, Inacio Miguel, Gaston Sirino and Njabulo Blom before the season started in September.

“For all decisions, the direction of my eyes is for the best for Chiefs. It is not to be friendly, not to be emotional. For that reason, moving the squad won’t stop window after window.

“Maybe for a player not at our level there will be another opportunity, they will be out.

“People were pushing to see a striker before the last window (closed), but the opportunities were very bad.

“In October, we don’t play many games, and then there is November and December, and after that (in January), a new window will open, and we will have the opportunity to scout the world for the best players,” the Tunisian added.

THREE WINGERS LINKED WITH KAIZER CHIEFS

Looking at the current squad, Nabi has been using Gaston Sirino and Wandile Duba as his wingers. Sirino is expected to move to the number 10 position, while Duba, and the regular substitute Mfundo Vilakazi require added patients to mature.

Kaizer Chiefs still have experienced wingers like Pule Mmodi and Tebogo Potsane, but the duo is yet to convince coach Nabi.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi are linked with three wingers:

  • Oswin Appollis, 23, Winger at Polokwane City
  • Asanele Velebayi, 21, Winger at Cape Town Spurs
  • Tsepang Moremi, 24, Winger at AmaZulu.
