Kaizer Chiefs have revealed the contract details of their newly-signed centre-back Inacio Miguel Ferreira.

Miguel, as he’s affectionately known, joined Amakhosi on Tuesday from Petrol de Luanda but he was unveiled on Wednesday.

He had long been linked with a move to Chiefs who are in the rebuilding phase following a dismal season they had.

Now, according to a statement released by Chiefs, Miguel arrived at Naturena on Tuesday to complete his medicals before signing a three-year contract with them.

What this means is that the Angola international will be at Chiefs at least until June 2027 as per the statement.

Miguel comes in as a replacement for Njabulo Ngcobo who was released, and has since joined Sekhukhune United.

The 28-year-old will be fighting for a place in Nassredine Nabi’s starting line-up alongside the likes of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango and Edmilson Dove among others.

KAIZER CHIEFS REVEAL INACIO MIGUEL’S CONTRACT DETAILS

“In their latest move as they plan for the season ahead, Kaizer Chiefs have secured the services of Angolan international, Inacio Miguel Ferreira dos Santos from Petro de Luanda, one of the biggest Clubs in his homeland,” reads part of the statement.

“The 28-year-old centre-back, who is simply known as Inacio Miguel in football, arrived in South Africa on Tuesday afternoon to undergo his medical before signing a three-year deal with Amakhosi.”

HOW MANY NEW SIGNINGS ARE AT AMAKHOSI NOW?

Miguel brings Amakhosi’s new signings for the current season to five.

He joins Rushwin Dortley whom Chiefs signed from Cape Town Spurs to take over from S’fiso Hlanti who was let go by the club.

Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari arrived a few weeks ago from TS Galaxy while Bongani Sam joined from Orlando Pirates to bolster the left-back position.

Perhaps the biggest fish caught by Chiefs in this transfer window is none other than Gaston Sirino, who joined them as a free agent.

The followed his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns where he spent seven seasons and was their best player until recently.

Furthermore, Chiefs won’t have to worry about Sirino’s work permit as he already holds a South African citizenship.

Ntwari (Rwanda) and Miguel (Angola) will have to apply for their work permits to be able to feature for Chiefs when the league seasons starts.

The Glamour Boys begin their 2024-25 league season away to returnees Marumo Gallants on 14 September as per the PSL website.

And all eyes will be on their new singings and technical team.
