Move over Matlou: Kaizer Chiefs eyeing magician midfielder!

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly monitoring one of the PSL’s most exciting midfielder amid George Matlou contractual concerns.

Kaizer Chiefs are in the hunt for AmaZulu midfielder Rowan Human.

This isn’t the first time the Soweto giants have tried their luck at signing the 24-year-old maestro, failing to secure his services from Maritzburg United in 2023.

According to reports, AmaKhosi have been closely monitoring the uSuthu star, and if the Bethlehem native maintains his current trajectory, the club is expected to submit a bid in the offseason—potentially putting George Matlou’s position at risk, despite being on the verge of a one-year extension with Kaizer Chiefs.

Human update

“The team [Kaizer Chiefs] is already planning for next season and apart from the striker they are looking for, they are also looking at bolstering the midfield and they are reconsidering Rowan [Human] from AmaZulu,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“You know the scouts looks at players who would fit in the team’s system and they are believed to have identified Human as one target for the midfield position for next season.”

An additional source confirmed Kaizer Chiefs’ keeness, saying, “It’s true they had inquired about him just before he left Maritzburg United to join AmaZulu FC but things didn’t work at that time,

“Now they are back on the radar for his services and it will all depend on what happens at the end of the season but for now both the technical team and scouts are apparently happy with what they have seen in Human and they want him.”
