Kaizer Chiefs will be without their key player ahead of their match against Tuesday’s match against AmaZulu.

The Soweto giants were in action this past weekend against rivals Orlando Pirates where they lost 1-0. Amakhosi remains in fifth position with 21 points from 15 matches. AmaZulu, who have played the same number of matches as Chiefs are ninth on the log with 19 points in the bag.

Amakhosi now turn their attention to Usuthu hoping to bounce back from defeat. Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi will be expected to make more changes to his team which will face AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium.

Njabulo Blom, who played superbly in the derby, will miss Tuesday’s action due to suspension after collecting his fourth booking of the season. The 25-year-old was slotted at right-back against Pirates and managed to contain Relebohile Mofokeng for much of the game.

Unfortunately, the 20-year-old got the better of Blom in the end, forcing him to commit a penalty which was converted by Patrick Maswangany to give the Buccaneers all three points.

Amakhosi are expected to make a few changes with new signing Tashreeq Morris now back from suspension. Thabo Cele and Makabi Lilepo made their Chiefs debuts in the derby but not much was seen from them.

Kaizer Chiefs take on AmaZulu on Tuesday in a Betway Premiership clash looking for three points. Kick-off for the match is scheduled for 19:30 at the iconic FNB Stadium. Amakhosi’s next three league matches include Stellenbosch, SuperSport United and rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

How good was Njabulo Blom in the Soweto Derby against Pirates on Saturday?
