Kaizer Chiefs, with four wins and just one loss in their last six league games, will be out to make it four victories in a row, when they host Stellenbosch at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday evening, with kickoff at 17h30.

Amakhosi, who got the better of Stellenbosch when the sides clashed earlier in the season, will be looking to complete a league double over their visitors for the first time.

Ahead of the encounter, coach Arthur Zwane has revealed some notable news on the personnel front.

“The team is in a good state (fitness wise), though our worry was that this international break might break our momentum as well. But we come back from this international break with a lot of players fully recovered from knocks and niggling injuries.

“We are missing those who are suspended and those on long-term injury layoffs, like Khama (Billiat) and Tower (Erick Mathoho), who are battling with fitness. (Phathutshedzo) Nange has a family bereavement, while Cole (Alexander) and Reeve Frosler are also not ready to return to play, as yet. But, as for the rest of the guys, they are available for selection. We welcome back Siya (Ngezana), who was suspended for our previous game.”

CHIEFS WILL BE FAVOURITES ON SATURDAY

Experienced keeper Brandon Petersen said they would show full respect to seventh-placed Stellenbosch, although he insists that if Chiefs perform to their potential, there will be only one outcome.

“I played against them in the NFD when I was at Ajax and there are a few guys still there like Lee Langeveldt. They’ve got a good squad. Most of their players have been doing very well,” he added.

“For us it’s important to go into this game and just be us, because we have also been on a good run. It’s going to be an exciting game and I know, at the end of the day, if we put in the graft, the fight, we’ll come out with a positive result.”
