After months of speculation, Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly in talks with Tanzanian international Feisal Salum.

Nasreddine Nabi spent two years with Salum at Young Africans, completing the double in both campaigns. The 27-year-old midfielder recently rejected Azam FC’s contract extension, making him a free agent in the offseason.

The club have placed an R7 million price tag on the playmaker, fuelling further speculation of a Nabi-Salum reunion.

“Feisal Salum has made his decision and informed the club that he will not extend his contract,” Africafoot.com reported.

“He is enjoying his experience at Azam, a big club, but he wants to explore new opportunities at the end of the season,

“A move to Kaizer Chiefs? It is still too early to say for sure, but it is a very serious possibility.”

Azam reluctant to let go

On the contrary, Azam’s media officer, Hasheem Ibwe, has stated the club’s intention to keep Salum, saying, “if there is any player we are willing to keep, even with our lives, it is that guy Feisal,

“We have never opened any talks with any club because he is not for sale. Feisal Salum has another 17 months on his contract with Azam,

“He is not going anywhere as we are making sure that we keep him. We renewed his contract because we need him in the team. He is an important part of the team.”

Kaizer Chiefs have yet to make an official statement on their interest for the Tanzanian star, but all signs show they’re head over heels for one of Africa’s most exciting midfielders.

 Should Kaizer Chiefs buy Salum?
