Kaizer Chiefs players have expressed their feelings on new manager Nasreddine Nabi who has struggled so far in the dugout. There’s pressure on him to sign these marquee names in January.

Chiefs players are happy, for now

According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs players remain confident in Nabi and are happy playing for the Tunisian. Chiefs are already 10 points off the title pace after eight matches, languishing in ninth place in the Betway Premiership.

“If you look at the mood in the team (Chiefs) on a daily basis, I think the last time you saw the players that happy with their coach was during the Ernst Middendorp time. The players are happy. With almost everything from the coaching methods to the conduct, from not just the coach (Nabi), but the whole technical team to the fairness of team selection. You see at times even those who are not playing give support to the others because they understand the situation. I think it’s his openness that makes the players like him,” said one source.

“Just like at any other work situation, it’s hard to keep everyone happy. But if 95 to 98% of the players are happy with the coach then how can you question his work ethic? He is also human and he has his shortcomings but the chunk of his work is well done because he knows what he is doing with the players. These players always look forward to training because of how they are treated.”

“But I can’t say the (Chiefs) whole squad is 100% happy. I would be lying. That’s how it is at work if you are a boss you can’t impress or please everyone. But most of them are happy with the coach (Nabi) and that matters. They can play for him. It hurts them when they can’t win but they can’t bury their heads in the sand as the battle has to continue and one day things will fall in place and there will be no looking back,” said the source.

Chiefs line up Sirino’s replacement

According to Soccer-Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs are looking to get rid of Gaston Sirino after just a couple of months at the club. His potential replacement is Tanzanian star playmaker Feisal Salum from Azam FC. Tanzanian international midfield star Salum is commanding a massive new pay rise with his current club Azam FC. Simba SC and Kaizer Chiefs are both lurking with considerable intent. According to The Citizen, Amakhosi have the funds to out-bid Azam and offer him improved terms. However, Chiefs face a tough stage of negotiations if they want to lure the midfielder away from his homeland. The attacking midfield maestro scored 19 goals last term and he’s already notched double figures in 2024-2025.
