Former Kaizer Chiefs winger ‘admits’ to age cheating

“My football age is what you see right now, and there is something I left at home,” said ex-Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United winger.

Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport winger United Thuso Phala revealed surprising details about his real age.

During an interview with Kota and Chill Podcast, the former Bafana Bafana star spoke about his career journey and also admitted that he has two ages he uses in his life; football age and his actual age.

“Do you want to know my age or the football age? After all, there is age that you leave at home and then there is football age, which you use on the field,” said Phala in an interview.

“My football age is what you see right now, and there is something I left at home. Thuso Phala who played football is this age that you know.”

The former Kaizer Chiefs winger recently retired from football following his remarkable 15-year career.

“Will they now take away the medals and trophies that I have won if they find out my real age, and say that I am a defaulter? If that is a crime, let’s leave it at that.

“How can you retire at the age of 34? This thing is only a problem in development ranks, it is not a problem at the higher (paying) level,” Phala said.

According to various sites, Phala is 37 years of age but the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns man could be 40 or at least close.
