NEW 16-year-old starlet spotted training at Kaizer Chiefs

Cavin Johnson has reportedly welcomed a new young face from the Kaizer Chiefs academy to first team training at Naturena

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Cavin Johnson has welcomed a new 16-year-old talent to first team training.

According to reports, DStv Diski Challenge goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba has been rewarded for his fine form by being welcomed to join the first team at training.

The South African junior international has reportedly been tipped for a big future at Naturena.

Johnson, who has a superb track record of fast tracking academy players into first team football, has opted to the rope the youngster in amidst a goalkeeping crisis at Naturena.

“Just before they closed for the mid-season recess, Chiefs welcomed a new face in training with the DDC side goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba invited to train with the senior team.” – A FarPost report read.

“The young goalie has been in the club’s development structures for quite some time. And has the potential to be considered for the role between the sticks for the senior team in the future.”

Kaizer Chiefs interim head coach Cavin Johnson has opened up about the club’s January transfer window plans.

The Glamour Boy have struggled to close the glaring gap between themselves and rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The Buccaneers lifted the MTN8 title already this season while Mamelodi Sundowns also lifted the inaugural African Football League trophy.

Despite looking well off the pace, Johnson is adamant his side don’t need to bolster their squad.

“Like I said earlier, I’m not interested in getting any players at the moment. We need to work with what we have, make sure that they come to the party and make sure that they believe that they are Kaizer Chiefs players.” Cavin Johnson said as quoted by SoccerLaduma.

“And that’s what we gonna work on during the break and now we’ve got a little bit of a holiday.

“I think five or ten days, we get back and we’ve got a little pre-season camp and we see what happens when we come back.”
