A legendary Kaizer Chiefs first team player has been linked with a shock exit from the club.

Veteran defender Eric Mathoho looks set to leave the Glamour Boys according to the latest transfer rumours.

Mathoho has struggled to earn a spot in Arthur Zwane’s starting lineup this season.

“To be honest, there’s no place for Tower (Erick Mathoho) in the centre back position. If he is not released in January, he’ll definitely leave the club at the end of the season,” a source told Citizen.

“Kaizer Chiefs have one thing in mind, we can only win if we score goals and defend well. It’s not going to come on a silver platter. We are going to have to grind and work for the result.”
