Former Kaizer Chiefs star Willard Katsande has urged the club to be patient with their next head coach.

Cavin Johnson is expected to return to his role as ‘Head of Academy’ once the club makes a decision on their new coaching acquisition.

For Katsande however, the issue isn’t exactly who the coach is going to be but rather, will he be given enough time to steer the ship to safer waters?

“Whoever is going to be chosen by the management as a new coach, give him the support whether we lose three or four nil just give him that period. He’s cooking.” Katsande told iDiskiTimes.

“Now there is a new coach. Don’t judge him after five games. Let’s see how he wraps up the whole season then we can judge if we are still continuing with him. Then we are building on something.

“So we don’t need to put him under pressure. I want everybody to support whoever has been chosen by the management.”

We have enough quality – Johnson

“Look I think we have enough quality in the team, I just think they have not been given enough opportunities as individuals and I think the way we assess them, or the way we analyse them as part of the Chiefs family,” Johnson told iDiskiTimes

“I think that needs to be a little better between myself and my coaching staff. Because then we can give them more, they can be more positive towards themselves.

“If you did come to Kaizer Chiefs as an average player, then we will make you a better player. I think we need to get in their skin right now and there are good players.”
