Parker said he was training on his own when Gavin Hunt invited him over at Matsatsantsa in an attempt to offer him a deal so that he can inspire the younger players.
The 36-year-old didn’t think twice about it, and while he feels he impressed during his time there, he left for TS Galaxy as SuperSport United took longer to make him an offer.

And it was though his relationship with TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi which dates back to 2009 that Parker accepted the offer presented to him by the former agent.
Parker said he first knew Sukazi when he took Erick Mathoho to FC Twente for trials, and receiving his call while training with SuperSport United was a game changer.

“Coach Gavin knows me well from our time at Chiefs and he said to me, ‘no, man, rather you train with the team because we’ve got a young and exciting team here and come and inspire the boys’,” Parker told the media.
“I didn’t even ask anything else, I just said, ‘what time should I come to training tomorrow?’ I came in and trained and they were very impressed. The technical staff believed I could add value and they took it up higher.”
“The league started and things went on and on, and I decided to go with the option to come to the Rockets because me and the chairman [Tim Sukazi] have got a bit of a relationship since FC Twente.”
“He came to visit me at Twente when he brought ‘Tower’ on trial in 2009. From there, we had a good relationship. He called me and said he wanted me to be part of the family. I accepted it, I took on his blessing,” he added.
