Kaizer Chiefs fan: Cut Dolly’s salary to R10k

Dolly is by far the best paid player at Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs supporters aren’t best pleased with the majority of their first-team players. Keagan Dolly especially.

Kaizer Chiefs fans voice their disapproval

Just search X for a few minutes and you’ll find a bunch of disgruntled Amakhosi fans venting their frustration around some of the salaries being collected at Naturena. One fan said Dolly’s salary should be cut to R10k. 31-year-old Dolly, once with Montpellier in France’s Ligue1, is by far and away the top earner at Chiefs. This season he’s made just six DStv Premiership appearances because of a serious knee injury. Overall he’s appeared just 66 times for the club since arriving in 2021.

Top earner, but is it merited?

Dolly bags a reported R1.4 million a month, making him the club’s top earner by some distance. His monthly pay packet is almost triple that of Itumeleng Khune, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
