Kaizer Chiefs could bring TWO Bafana Bafana players to Naturena

With three players injured, Nasreddine Nabi might look to bring in Bafana Bafana players to beef his fragile squad.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to be interested in Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu.

Ever since ‘Ben 10’ left Mamelodi Sundowns, the 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Naturena. Zungu hasn’t kicked a ball since Masandawana’s 2-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final. He was also linked with a move to Wydad Casablanca to reunite with ex-coach Rulani Mokwena but the move collapsed.

Another Bafana player that Kaizer Chiefs can sign in January is Percy Tau. The 30-year-old has not enjoyed life in Egypt this past 12 months and is reportedly keen to leave the club in January. Amakhosi might opt to sign him in January or wait until his contract ends in June next year.

Earlier this season, Nasreddine Nabi said he wasn’t worried about his players getting injured but his tone might change now. The likes of Edson Castillo and Edmilson Wome are out for months and he might need cover.

”We don’t have 12, 13 players, we have more than that. We have enough players to replace whoever is injured,” Nabi told the media in September.

”We are trying to give everyone a chance especially those who don’t have game-time and we trust and believe in them, in their abilities to replace in their best capacities and as much as possible.

”I’m not going to fall into the trap of saying what the positions of players that we need to buy because I need to respect the players that are currently available to me,” he said as per GOAL.

Another Bafana Bafana star who Kaizer Chiefs almost signed is Khanyisa Mayo. The 26-year-old striker joined CR Belouizdad in Algeria.
