Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing an audacious swoop for a talented Sundowns playmaker who might be available in the next window.

According to local reports, Chiefs are keen on signing the experienced playmaker Neo Maema from Sundowns. The 29-year-old Bloemfontein-born star has been on the fringes at Sundowns this season, only making five league appearances. Maema moved to Sundowns from Royal AM in July 2021.
“As for Sundowns, they are looking at downsizing the squad at the end of the season and Chiefs are believed to be looking to use that window space to pursue Maema. They have been monitoring him for some time now and they have the chance to sign him if Sundowns let him go. So yes, it’s true, Chiefs are believed to be pursuing Neo Maema,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.
Ranga’s future is up in the air
Kaizer Chiefs have an option to extend Ranga Chivaviro’s contract for another year. However, no decision has been reached yet. The 32-year-old has scored three goals in 16 league outings this term.
“A strong mentality is required to cope with the high expectations set by the fans,” Nasreddine Nabi stated in a potential dig at the former Gallants striker.
“The next few months will be important for him (Chivaviro) to decide his future at the club. It’s true that the contract is nearing an end, and he had hoped to have been on double figures by now with his goals, but it’s not over yet as there are still a lot of games to play until the end of the season,” a SoccerLaduma source confirmed.
