When will these excuses get old?

Kaizer Chiefs boss Nabi has cited fatigue as one of the factors behind his side’s poor performance against SuperSport.

SuperSport do the double over Kaizer Chiefs

Matsatsantsa’s 4-1 Betway Premiership win last time out against Kaizer Chiefs made it a league double over the Glamour Boys. Two former Chiefs players were on the score sheet for Gavin Hunt’s men, compounding the misery for Chiefs and their fans.

Nabi bemoans the lack of rest

“It was a very difficult game, from the first minute … we could already see it was an off game for us,” Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi told reporters after the match.

“I cannot give excuses all the time, but we didn’t have enough time to recover, (just) two days. The other team had a week.

“It’s a deserved defeat, but you can see that mentally, we were not up to standard. We cracked … the result was painful.”

Sundowns test looms for Kaizer Chiefs

Nabi’s side has a while to recover now before an almighty test against champions Sundowns on 01 March.

Serero returns to the Mother City

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero is a free agent and on the brink of signing for Cape Town City. Kaizer Chiefs fans want the former Ajax Amsterdam and FC Twente schemer in the engine room for Nasreddine Nabi’s side. The diminutive star has won 43 caps for South Africa in a distinguished career which has seen him enjoy club stints in the Netherlands and the UAE.
