Kaizer Chiefs and Pitso Mosimane: Are the stars aligned?

Reports coming out of Naturena have hinted at Pitso Mosimane the front-runner for the Kaizer Chiefs coaching job.

Pitso Mosimane is reportedly one of the final three candidates shortlisted for the Kaizer Chiefs coaching hot seat.

Reports out of Naturena lead us to believe that Mosimane is the new favourite for the Amakhosi job, replacing Cavin Johnson.

PITSO MOSIMANE BECOMES FIRST CHOICE FOR CHIEFS?

With Mosimane now available, he is rumoured to be the new front-runner ahead of Alexander Santos and Nasreddine Nabi.

“There were two main candidates. Alexandre Santos and Pitso Mosimane. With Abha’s relegation, Mosimane might now be more available. Pushing Chiefs to consider him over Santos,” a report read on Soccer Laduma.

Mosimane’s Saudi Pro League side Abha Club were relegated from the top flight at the end of the season.

The stars could be aligned and now Amakhosi just need to make an offer for ‘Jingles’.

In terms of affordability, a couple of cuts will need to be made.

Firstly, NINE Kaizer Chiefs players are linked with exits out of Naturena.

In addition, a pay cut for some players is on the cards, while the technical team could be replaced.

ARTHUR ZWANE AND AMAKHOSI TECHNICAL STAFF IN DANGER

Arthur Zwane, Dillon Sheppard and Muzi Maluleke could all lose their jobs, according to recent reports on The South African. .

Both Mosimane and Santos have reportedly insisted on bringing in their own technical staff – should they be appointed.

Meanwhile, Nabi’s had the same demands last season.

This was before he was overlooked at the last minute for Molefi Ntseki.

Kaizer Chiefs finished a lowly 10th in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, missing out on a MTN8 place next season following a 2-0 defeat to relegated Cape Town Spurs on the final weekend of the season.
