‘I would like to see Nabi give him a fair chance’ – ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender asks

Kaizer Chiefs have conceded nine goals in seven league matches this season despite bringing in four defenders and a goalkeeper.

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi has identified the club’s problems this season.

The 42-year-old retired footballer said Amakhosi needed to find the perfect combination at the back to keep clean sheets. In the seven league matches they played, Chiefs only kept one clean sheet and that was against AmaZulu.

Kaizer Chiefs bought Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy as their number one keeper but the Rwandan international has looked shaky. Following his injury, Nasreddine Nabi has given Brandon Petersen a chance but the senior keeper has conceded three goals in two matches.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsotetsi says Bruce Bvuma should be given a chance in goals.

“To be honest, it’s a big concern for me. But remember the goalkeeper has a big role to play. But it’s not only about the goalkeeper because the defence plays a big role and Chiefs have to work on finding the right combination at the back,” he said.

Former Kaizer Chiefs star questions the club’s defence and keeper

“It’s easy for goalkeepers to concede if the defence is not solid. It’s not a good look for a team like Chiefs to be conceding every game. I would like to see coach Nabi giving Bvuma a fair chance. Give him a few games and see how they can establish a solid defence. Going forward, Chiefs are good but they are lacking in defence and it’s something they need to work on. I feel that Bvuma can give Chiefs something,” he said.

Kaizer Chiefs have conceded a total of nine goals in seven matches this season in the Betway Premiership. Nabi and his men are back in action on Sunday afternoon against Polokwane City.
