Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates can rejoice knowing that Mamelodi Sundowns top player Lucas Ribeiro is wanted overseas.

The 26-year-old attacker has scored 13 goals in 20 matches in the league this season. The Brazilians has been head and shoulders above the rest this campaign and is a favourite to claim Player of the Season.

In the matches he played against Chiefs and Pirates this season, Ribeiro has found the back of the net in almost all of them. His agent A. Driss said the player was happy in South Africa but many teams are after his services.

“The immediate goals right now are the CAF Champions League and Club World Cup for now, and after that we will see what happens, but for now that is the only thing on Lucas’ mind, to do as best as he can to win for Sundowns,” he told iDiski Times.

Chiefs and Pirates want to see the back of Ribeiro

“He’s happy in South Africa; who can’t see what happens in the future? He is really committed to helping Sundowns win the Champions League and compete at the FIFA Club World Cup. Now is not the time to think about his future; it’s not the end of his career,” A. Driss continued.

“As you can imagine, for a player like Lucas, my phone has been ringing non-stop this season, but what is important is for Lucas to be happy, to play at a club that suits him, and to win trophies, and he is so happy to be here at Sundowns. Even yesterday (Tuesday), he said the same thing,” he added.

Ribeiro has been a difference-maker for Sundowns this season and unlike Chiefs and Pirates, the Brazilians have a consistent player who can make a difference in key matches. Masanadawana are favourites to claim their eight straight league title in a row after going 18 points clear of Pirates.
