Relebohile Mofokeng‘s father Sechaba believes his son has what it takes to succeed at FC Barcelona should he move to Spain.

The 20-year-old winger has been linked with a big move to the Catalan giants for weeks. Last year the young attacker had trials with Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers however the move did not materialise. This season, Mofokeng has been one of Orlando Pirates‘ most influential players and that alone has lifted his price tag.

Relebohile’s father Sechaba Mofokeng revealed he was shocked when his son was linked with Barca.

“To be honest, I was shocked when I first heard it. Rele and Barcelona! Those two things are on different planets in different worlds. But I said, ‘if you are doing well, good things will come to you’,” Sechaba told Soccer Laduma.

“If it happens that he gets a contract there, I will give him only three months and he will be shining in the FC Barcelona team.”

Relebohile Mofokeng has also been linked to several European team

Mofokeng’s father has urged his son to put in the work despite interest from top teams in Europe.

“I told him if you are doing well, you will have more teams looking at you – but you have to do more. You haven’t done anything yet. Just show them what you are made of and they will realise we have gold in Mzansi,” he said.

Relebohile Mofokeng has scored three goals in 14 matches this season across all competitions. He has so far won the MTN8 this campaign.
