Unlike Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns are heading to the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the USA during June. The participation fee is extraordinary.

The Betway Premiership champions qualified as one of four teams thanks to Sundowns’ African Football League title win and consistent appearances in the CAF Champions League quarter-final stages over the past 10 years. Along with Al Ahly, Esperance, and Wydad Casablanca, Sundowns will earn a participation fee of USD 50 million, which will be R900 million in local currency.

Meanwhile, Kabo Yellow have a CAF Champions League game on Sunday. They take on Morocco’s AS FAR at Loftus Versfeld at 18:00. A draw will book a place in the quarterfinals.
