Could Monnapule Saleng sign a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs?
Kaizer Chiefs are no doubt one of the teams monitoring Monnapule Saleng’s situation. The Pirates star is not featured in the PSL for months.

Monnapule Saleng could potentially leave Orlando Pirates before the end of the season and possibly join rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
The 26-year-old winger has not played for the Buccaneers in three months, leading to speculation about his future at the club.
This past weekend, Saleng made his first appearance since December, playing for Bafana Bafana during the CHAN qualifiers against Egypt. Despite being out of action for 12 weeks, the former Moroka Swallows star had a very good game as Bafana drew 1-1 with The Pharaohs.
This week, Pirates’ assstant coach Mandla Ncikazi refused to answer questions about Monnapule Saleng. It seems unlikely that the speedy winger will play for the Buccaneers anytime soon and other teams might likley pounce.
Are Kaizer Chiefs monitoring Monnapule Saleng’s situation?
Kaizer Chiefs may be eyeing Saleng’s situation as they recently signed former Pirates defender Bongani Sam, although he has yet to make his debut. If Saleng’s contract expires at the end of the season, Chiefs could acquire him without a transfer fee. Should Saleng decide to leave the Sea Robbers, would he really join their bitter rivals across Soweto? Kaizer Chiefs could greatly benefit from having a player like Saleng on their roster, given his skills and competitive nature.
If Kaizer Chiefs decide to sign Monnapule Saleng from Pirates, it wouldn’t be the first time one Soweto team took advantage of a player’s unhappiness to sign him. The Buccaneers did the same with Lehlohonolo Majoro back in 2013. The striker was unhappy at Chiefs and Pirates brought him helping them to claim the Nedbank Cup in 2014 under Vladimir Vermezovic.
In his last Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs, Saleng scored a winner as the Sea Robbers walked 3-2 winners last year.
